- To start off, its easy to use, I didnt even read the manual and I figured out every function and how to use it properly in about 10 minutes. I plugged my guitar into this, and plugged this product into one of my mixers, and tested it with and without it. The sound is so much better when using this, there is a huge difference, buy it its worth it!
- have never come across anything that does so much for a signal for so little money. Putting this in my vocal, guitar, and snare chains made EQing and mixing several times more efficient, due to the extra harmonics it adds to given tracks. But being Behringer gear it has its quirks. You'll find that it is a little bit noisier than higher-end toys. Its ability to brighen really comes into play with instruments and sources with a lot of harmonics in the 300hz-5khz range. Items with a lot of harmonics at 3khz+ tend to make things really bad. It's a lot gentler than some of the tube drivers I've played with and so that can help with vocals that you want to brighten w/o messing with the character. If you're into rock it might not make the snare beef up as much as a more aggressive tube-drive compressor or distressor, but for the price you're getting a helluva lot.It isn't a panacea, but if you're a beginner in the industry this processor may save you some work in post and provide an edge. With this on the input, my plugin counts dropped dramatically; it really is a step toward "getting it sounding good on its way into the board".
- It's not very often you get a piece of gear at this price that puts a smile on your face. Especially good for recorded music or vocals. The ultra bass enhancer is a great feature.Don't overuse. The trick is to use just enough so as to not over-enhance or color the sound. You shouldn't know it's running until you turn it off and then go "Wow, something's terribly missing".
